I Bracket (I-Shaped Reinforcement Connector) OEM Manufacturing

Standard / Slotted / Wide / Heavy / Ribbed / Stainless / Duplex | Hole Pattern Engineering | 12h Engineering Response
  • I-shaped geometry: stronger edge zones with central clearance
  • Dual-edge fastening lowers fastener count vs full-area plates
  • Web clearance allows bolt, cable, conduit or defect bypass
  • Optimized hole rows balance shear flow & reduce splitting
  • Multiple corrosion tiers: G90 / G185 / HDG / 304 / 316 / Powder / Duplex
  • Private label & kit bundling (logo, barcode, retail pack)

Why choose us

Your Reliable I Shape Bracket Manufacturing Partner

As a dedicated metal fabrication manufacturer, we engineer brackets for structural reliability, corrosion performance, and wholesale logistics efficiency.

Clearance Functionality

Central web enables bypass of defects, pre-existing bolts, or MEP penetrations.

Hole Pattern Engineering

Dual-edge rows tuned for balanced shear load flow and reduced timber splitting risk.

Corrosion Tier Matching

Finish matrix mapped to indoor → coastal environments.

Private Label Enablement

Logo emboss / laser, custom color powder, barcode kits.

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

What Is an I Bracket?

A I bracket (I-shaped reinforcement connector) is a planar metal connector with two wider end/edge zones joined by a narrower central web (forming an “I” outline). Pre-punched (and optionally slotted) holes concentrate fastening at the two edge bands to distribute shear and alignment forces while the middle web area provides clearance for knots, cracks, service penetrations (cable / conduit), bolts, or to reduce unnecessary material weight. It is typically auxiliary—reinforcing splices, alignment, local crack control—rather than a primary engineered load-bearing connector.

Differentiation vs Flat Bracket / T / L

  • Versus Flat Plate: Reduced central material; targeted fastening zones → weight & fastener optimization.
  • Versus T or Cross: I bracket is linear splice reinforcement, not multi-direction node expansion.
  • Versus Angle / L: I bracket acts entirely in-plane; no orthogonal leg for bending load transfer.

Material & Corrosion Guide

  • Indoor Dry / Light Furniture: G90 (optionally powder)
  • Treated Lumber / Moderate Moisture: G185 / HDG
  • High Moisture + Chemical Treatment: HDG (thicker zinc)
  • Coastal / Salt / Chloride: 316 (best), 304 for moderate salinity
  • Balanced Durability + Aesthetics: Duplex (HDG + Powder)
  • Architectural / Retail Visible: Colored Powder (Black / White / RAL)

Structural & Use Notes

  • I Brackets are auxiliary; engineering verification required for primary structural loads, uplift or moment capacity.
  • Install Sequence (Slotted Version): Fix reference (round) edge first → align → fasten slotted edge.
  • Avoid over-driving screws causing plate “dishing” at web zone.
For crack bridging, keep central web clear of unstable fibers (do not fasten through active crack line).

OEM Customization & Private Label

  • Geometry: Edge width scaling, web cutout shape (rectangular / oval / large aperture), rounded corners.
  • Hole Pattern: Dense vs sparse rows, staggered pattern to reduce fiber splitting.
  • Reinforcement: Flanged edge bends, pressed ribs, double-laminate overlays on one edge only.
  • Center Aperture: Large window for conduit or inspection zone.
  • Surface & Branding: Embossed or recessed logo in web, laser code, color-specific powder, packaging print.

I Bracket removes central material creating edge bands for fastening while leaving center clearance; flat bracket is a full rectangle.

When you need to bypass a knot, bolt, conduit, crack, or reduce weight while keeping shear reinforcement on both sides.

Properly engineered edge rows retain targeted splice shear; central material often adds limited incremental value for many repairs—test data required for formal capacity claims.

Yes—staggering can lower wood splitting, and one side can host slots for install tolerance.

Use Duplex (HDG + Powder) or targeted stainless only for coastal SKUs; optimize hole count.

G185 or HDG; for severe salt exposure use 316 or consider Duplex if aesthetic plus durability is preferred.

Yes—custom aperture sizes (oval / rectangular) provided min edge width & hole-edge distance maintained.

Often not; 316’s corrosion resistance stands without ribs—ribs for stiffness or reduced thickness substitution.

Fasten the non-slotted side first; confirm flush seating; then finalize slotted edge torque.
